just tried the info given.
after doing ati6,
at the bottom of the screen it reads: alt-z for help ansi-bbs 38400 fdx,
is that the speed you mentionned or the one in the window under speed
28800/28800, also at the top of that windows it read usrobotics sporster
vi 33600 faxmodem, so it has properly identified the modem as a 33.6.
