    I am retired NAVY. I know exactly what you mean. But I do not accept that 
rational for bass boats having huge engines. If this were a valid argument 
then Jon boats would have big engines. Kyaks would have big engines. Pontoon 
boats would have 500hp engines. etc, etc...............

    Most thunder storms are also preceded by a good amount of warning. I do 
agree with you on the lightning issue however. That stuff can be 
un-predictable.
