Hello Chris!
Saturday August 10 1996, Chris Stone writes to John Mudge:
JF>> Rob, are we down to 3 popular gateway packages now? WG, GIGO, and
JF>> Chris's Act-Up?
JM>> That is what I count as being actively developed now although it sounds
JM>> as if Chris Stone has one in the works.
CS> It's actually working now. Running as a closed beta for the time being.
CS> Like to have it that way for starters - pre-v1.00. Don't know how popular
CS> it'll be, but I am sure getting flooded with people requesting to be on
CS> the beta team, so it appears that there is a real need for it - at least
CS> on the WildCat side of things.
I spoke to Joe Martin about such things awhile back and he was convinced there
was no market. I think you will prove there is. It is not a piece of software
I can use but I sure think the time is passed when such a thing needed to
exist. I am presuming you are looking at SMTP support! UUCP is no longer a
viable alternative in much of the world.
