Hi Stephen! On 28.07.95 10:46 you wrote to Tom Williams: SL> Eberhard Mattes port of the gnu g++ compiler to the OS/2 and DOS SL> platforms. What the emx/gnu package lacks from other (commercial) compilers is "visual" tools or an ide. The compiler itself is real good. Compile time is relatively short and so is optimization. There are 2 ways of compiling with emx/gcc - using ld or using link386. Programs compiled with the first method can (as long as they don't use OS/2-only routines) also run as 32bit DOS programs. An ide and / or visual tools don't have to be free software. You can use IBM's WorkFrame and the toolkit (for the dialog editor etc.). This way you still spare lots of money. Even though I have a license for Watcom C/C++ 10.0 I still use emx/gnu for development before porting to Watcom.
