Bill Cheek writes in a message to Scott Christensen
BC>> Fido can't even keep things current.........
SC> Is it better on the internet?
BC> What is "it"?
Keeping things current. How many different browsers and markup languages and
"Java"s and such are there? You need a hard disk full of software just to
access the different web and internet sites and use all of the different
nonstandard "features" of each site.
BC> But it differs from a normal entity in that there is no hierarchy;
BC> no rules-levying body; nothing to keep current.
And therefore, *nothing* is current.
BC> You are, of course, free (and invited) to check the foregoing
BC> numbers for yourself,
I will not dispute the numbers. Big deal. I'd rather have quality than
quantity any day. And yes I am saying that's the tradeoff.
Bill, I'm not going to continue this thread. It is not an admission of
anything, I'm just tired of it. And I'm a bit tired of the people carrying
it on.
See you later when you start talking about scanners.
