KJ>The conures have decided that this is the summer to make sure their KJ>species continues on in the world! I've got two fertile Jenday eggs KJ>(again), and three fertile Cherry-head eggs! Plus, I still have the I sure do wish my CH's would get to work! KJ>OTHER two Jenday babies here! (I've had an awful time getting ads KJ>run--the bird club editor forgot to run my ad in the newsletter two KJ>months in a row.....) I don't advertise *everywhere*--I'm fussy about KJ>who I sell to, so I prefer not to advertise in the major local papers. KJ>In any case, I'm going to be up to my ears in birds by the end of KJ>August! It looks like I'll end up with a brooder in my bedroom... KJ>life will be very interesting around here this fall!!! I know how that feels! I have about 21 babies in the bedroom now. There's the big baby (nearly grown and already talking Yellow Crown Amazon), a pinfeathered Blue Front Amazon, a naked Red Bellied Macaw, two almost feathered Severe Macaws, two pinfeathered Rainbow lories, a dusky conure, two young pied tiels, four keets, an almost weaned blue crown conure, and five green cheeked conures that should already be weaned, and the recuperating white eye conure that the cat got ahold of and bit last month who is sitting here waiting to be handfed still and has been munching lately on raisin cookies and today pita bread. Plud my pet quakers who have chosen today to rise to new decibel levels, something they don't often do. They usually speak people talk, not quaker squawk. But not today. Bozo's on a roll. Soon, I'll have two nanday babies and a "mystery" conure, something I forgot to label in the incubator. A conure of unknown origin! I fostered it to the nandays with their babies but really am not sure what it is. It is probably a dusky but who knows, yet? Myold white eyes are due to hatch four babies soon. I think the duskies cracked their last clutch and the quakers also have eggs. So this is considered a slow time and will pick up a bit again soon. Right now I am laughing. Ed is feeding babies on the bed and one of the little green cheeks is chasing the Yellow Crown Amazon all over the place, totally fearless of something five times as large as it is. Ihad to put one of the little green cheeks up on top of my head as she is being a bully to the bigger bird. Well, TTYL! KJ> * SLMR 2.1a * Science Fiction warps your mind. Engage, warp factor 10.
