I have been having some discussions about this with Watcom.  It seems that
some limited degree of free support by Watcom will be made available,
although not by voice telephone.  If you have web access to
http://www.watcom.on.ca, then you will see that there are bug report and
enhancement request forms available now.  The bug report form is a big step
forward, and Watcom will likely respond to bug reports -- the vast majority
of which, not surprisingly, are from people who incorrectly think they have
found a bug -- with some kind of human-written message.
