DM> DM> I read that you could download updates for your games off the

DM> THC> Depending on how they design it, it might be possible to

DM> Why can't they make a console that allows for local calls
DM> beetween friends to play games? That would be the best!
DM> But, Noooo it's all got to be on the NET. Wouldn't it be
DM> cool if I could like (just an example) call you up and
DM> just play!
DM> Better that then to wait on the net until I can find any
DM> one willing to play the same game with me. For the update
DM> part, why can't you just buy a controller pack with update
DM> data on it?
DM> It's possible. It doesn't have to be in the form of the
DM> controller paks. You could use an adapter and plug the
DM> thing in.!
I guess theres nothing to stop you from just connecting a phone line direct
from your console right to your friends, not using a phone line or anything,
just use the WIRE itself. I agree, that WOULD SUCK if it demands the Internet
for multi-player. (It would save them zillions of lines of code if they just
made games that were direct-play since the company must emulate Unix PPP for
Internet). If any old-timer hackers are still out there, it won't be long
before they'll hack the code to a game to allow direct-play.
Nick.
