DC>>> I do believe it was _Vanishing Point_ ml>>or was it _White Line Fever_ ?? PS> That was a trucking movie wasn't it ? seems that that one is... i'm still searching for the one that i'm thinking of... after a few more minutes of searching and tracking in on the above mentioned _Vanishing Point_ leads me to believe that it is the movie i am thinking of... ===== quoting from www.imdb.com ===== Plot Summary for Vanishing Point (1971) Kowalski, the hero of the story, works for a car delivery service. He takes delivery of a supercharged 1970 Dodge Challenger to take from Colorado to Frisco, California. Shortly after pickup, he takes a bet to get the car there in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops and highway patrol they start a chase to bring him into custody. Along the way, Kowalski is guided by Supersoul - a blind DJ with a police radio scanner. Throw in lots of chase scenes, gay hitchhikers, a naked woman riding a motorbike, lots of Mopar and you've got a great cult hit from the early 70's. Summary written by Matthew Kowalski, ex-race car driver, ex-cop, delivers a 1970 supercharged Dodge Challenger from Colorado to California. Along the way Kowalski has flash backs from his racing and police careers. After 2 hitchhikers file a complaint against him he is pursued by the police. Great chase scenes Kowalski is guided by a DJ monitoring the police radios. Kowalski turns off into the desert to decide what to do. The police set up a roadblock in California with Caterpillar Tractors. After reflecting on his life he accelerates towards the tractors. Summary written by Kent Pillatsch ===== end quote ===== the second plot summary appears to describe the ending scene that i'm thinking of... now, if i can locate some pictures of Barry Newman, the star, i might be able to clear up that image of the movie i see with my mind's eye... )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
