I'm sorry - I wasn't clear here.  I'm referring specifically to books on 
WDW.  Many of the ones I've encountered provide some detail on particular 
times of year, as well as general information.

From what I'm hearing, it can be variable, so your best bet may be to have 
a versatile wardrobe, just in case.

Birnbaum's "Most Crowded" chart lists Presidents' week, 3rd of March 
through 3rd week of April, 2nd week of June through 3rd week of August, 
and Christmas through New Year's Day.  A side bar comment is made, though, 
that the 25th birthday celebration may lead to bigger crowds for the 
entire duration.
