Hi,
We raise a lot of parrots and conures and we don't give them grit
either. I can't think when was the last time I gave my pet quakers grit,
in the last eight years or so,  but one broke a wing last year and when
he was x-rayed you could still see some grit that he had eaten some time
in his life, and I raised him from day one. So it really doesn't go
away...
