| subject: | Problem with the system() call |
Hi Donald,
you asked:
DH> But when executing a DOS command that is longer than 85 characters, OS/2
DH> gives a SYS016, which means the paramaters passed to the DosExecPgm() are
DH> wrong.
Hmm, here it's sys1059: The system cannot execute the specified program. I
think it's originated by the path's which will be preceeded by the
loadmodules, since:
system ("command.com /c prog.exe args ..... ");
^ 86 chars long
will not work, whereas
system("command.com /c prog.exe args ...... ");
^ 85 chars long
does work and notably:
system("c:\\os2\\mdos\command.com /c prog.exe args ..... ");
^ the same
using the same args and length as above, still works, although the
"argument" to system() is definitely longer than in the first
example.
DH> Is this a known limitation? If yes, how can I work my way round
DH> it?
DosExecPgm does not work either.
DH> I'm using Borland C++ for OS/2 version 1.00.
Independent of PC, here Borland 1.0 as well. IBM Cset 2.01 produces exactly
the same result.
