Buy better computers  -- good computers (IBM, Compaq) have a
firmware timer feature that OS/2 will use to prevent this type of lockup.

OS/2 could have done it itself,  buy trapping the CLI in VDM's,  but it
would have made VDM's run very slowly,  so they decided not to do it.
