That's only a workaround.  The crack is to stop the name-check at all.

You should see my Avenger cartridge.  While I was understanding how it
worked, I was cutting various wires (actually I was getting my henchman to
do that as I'm not very electronically skilled).  I was getting him to cut
and resolder many wires until in the end I found I could do the whole lot
from software. BFN.
