There is/was no V.34bis, Dean. You're correct that the original spec only
included speeds up to 28.8K. USR called their extended implementation V.34+
until the ITU-T amended the V.34 spec to include 31.2K and 33.6K. So all the
way up to 33.6K, it's just V.34 now.
