| subject: | Artie chucks a mental! |
Hi Arthur, AS> Thank you, Rod, as usual anyone that has AS> an opinion different to yours is held to ridicule. You need to learn the difference between a fact and an opinion. AS> I think you read too much into the AS> original comment by me, and then of course In the light of the conversation going on at the time then this is not so. AS> jumped off at a tangent about something AS> not mentioned by me. I reiterate, my AS> comment was that OLX handles NetMail. The AS> fact that it DOESN'T handle it in AS> the whiz bang way that QWKRR does is entirely beside the point. YOU are *still* missing the entire point. I shall repeat for the third and final time. It was mentioned that the *QWK mail format* has no support for netmail. I corrected this claim by saying while it was true that the format itself has no provision for this that most mail doors have their own methods of doing this, but the correct format must be performed manually. I also stated that QWKRR was the only QWK OLR on *any* platform that handles it *automatically*. These are FACTS ! they have nothing to do with opinion. You then jumped in and said that OLX TD also handled the netmail formatting, this is WRONG ! OLX TD is no different from any other QWK OLR in that this formatting must be done *manually* AS> fact that it DOESN'T handle it in AS> the whiz bang way that QWKRR does is entirely beside the point. But Artie *if* you had followed the conversation you would know that this *IS* the entire point of my claim. So how on earth can you now turn around and say that this is beside the point.. it is the very point that you were disputing. OK, so *you* may have missed this point at the time you made your claims but that doesn't change the facts in any way. AS> I know you have to defend your product, But I'm NOT trying to "defend" it. I *do* like to advertise this feature that it has that no other QWK OLR on any platform has. It is a unique feature and I'm proud of it. I can only make this claim of it's uniqueness as long as it IS unique. When you told me that it wasn't then obviously I'm going to check the FACTS before I continue with my claims. The FACTS are that QWKRR is still the only QWK OLR available that automates the Netmail formatting. The fact that all the others can support it manually is nothing new or special. AS> and I once made my comment that in the AS> 128 field IMO QWKRR stands alone. AS> Even that comment was crapped on. The time you said this was with QWKRR V2.x, and at that time CRR was a far superior program. I *could not* let you boost my program to something that it was not. I didn't "crap" on your comment, I was stating the FACTS, not an OPINION. AS> > No Artie, I'm just an arrogant pig. You are the bull-artist. AS> I think there are a few divided opinions AS> on this echo about which way this is. I don't think so.. most people that know me, and have read my messages for the last 5 or 6 years know that I'm an arrogant pig. However I do remain constant with anything I say, this tends to negate the ability for anyone to label me a bull-artist (and have the label stick). AS> is, however, my original comment stands, and IS CORRECT. I'm afraid not Artie.. Your LATEST claim that OLX TD handles NETMAIL is correct for sure, but this was established in *my* original message anyway when I said ALL QWK OLR's can send netmail despite the fact that the QWK format itself doesn't support it. Your ORIGINAL comment was in regards as to whether this formatting was done automatically. You said it was. You were wrong. AS> Pride has nothing to do with it. Maybe not for you, but it does for me. I'm PROUD of the features I have given C128 users with QWKRR. AS> I will accept that I may have misunderstood your first part of AS> the thread, And this you did. AS> stand by my original comment, which had AS> NOTHING to do with automation. I get WRONG ! your original comment had *EVERYTHING* to do with automation. This is what you were disputing when you told me that QWKRR was no longer unique in this regard. AS> exasperated with people that assume they AS> simply know it all, and no-one else's opinion matters. We are not talking about OPINIONS, we are talking about FACTS !! You really do seem to have a hard time differentiating between them. AS> I think we'll just have to agree to disagree. This is obvious. AS> I'll continue to work on Commodore AS> Network, but I won't be wasting my time on this echo any further. Shit, shit, shit ! I have actually been going out of my way during these "discussions" to not mention CN. Why ? Because of your earlier comments about "go and concentrate on the PC with real people" If I were contemplating about subscribing to CN, knowing you were involved and saw this comment then CN would've just lost me because of this remark. Fortunately I know better, and I realise that the opinions of Artie Stevens in no way reflects the opinions of CN. Nonetheless, because of this comment of yours I wished to not mention CN in this discussion with you. There *may* be some people reading this that were not aware of your association with CN, and in the light of this remark I didn't wish do make them wise to this fact. Do you realise how much HARM you have done with your thoughtless remark? I don't think you do..
