Doesn't matter if they "phase it in" in 50 years.
To actually be effective, smoking would have to be banned outside the
military as well.
Recruiter to recruit: "Oh yeah, I forgot, you may be a smoker as a
civilian, but you can't smoke in the Army."
Recruit says "Fuck you" and leaves recruiter's office.
Did Prohibition solve the drinking problems in the US?
Has the "War On Drugs" eliminated all drug abuse?
This idea may have noble intentions, but the proverbial "Devil is in the
details."
How is the military going to enforce this ban?
Smell soldiers' breath?
Are "secret smokers" in the military going to be court-martialed?
