it may be a lot easier, but it lacks a certain convenience when you have
to wait for them to add your particular favourite compression type..
with something like thdpro you can add it yourself...

i've always found thdpro (i emphasize the pro part) to be quite good in
the plain dos environment... and certainly much more powerful than it
would otherwise first appear... the only pseudo complaint i would have
is that thdpro itself requires you to give it the full path and filename
of the file you want checked, but there are other tools in the package
now that help to provide a more user friendly interface...
of course i'm sure david muir will pop up now and ask you specifically
what you think needs to be improved with thd and correlate it with his
list of things to do...
