If you think the helmet discussion has become monotonous and pedantic, you do
not want to see how overwhelming this issue will be. I would suggest that
you back off.

I will if they will. If the rest of the echo's participants don't want to
continue with a certain cycling topic, then I would advise them to stop
firing additional salvos. Perhaps a better solution would be for you and a
few other guys to start up a more narrowly focused conference. I would
suggest calling it Yuppie_cycling. You could restrict the topic to ONLY
those things which promote cycling as a recreational activity for the rich
(hence, no discussion of any bikes costing less than $5,000 would be
llowed).
Then you could safely ignore all this "rabble" talk about cyclists
rights,cycling for alternative transportation, and cycling to save the
environment from additional emissions from fossil fuel combustion.
