SC> I see from the origin line that you are posting from New
Jersey. SC>Does that make it difficult to follow the Cardinals?
Yes i hardly get to see any games. I mostly just follow the score
and their record through the wins and losses. And whatever is reported
over here through the local WFAN sports radio station. But it doesn't
bother me and as long i keep up to date that i am happy.
SC> The small portable radio that I use to listen to Phillies games
SC>recently died and I went to the nearest Best Buy store to see what was
SC>available in the cheap portable radio market. I ended up buying a GE
uper
SC>Radio III because is was advertised as being long range and having a very
SC>selective am tuner. It was a little larger than what I was looking for,
SC>but the selectivity was what caught my eye. I live less than a mile away
SC>from a local radio tower and it tends to wash out all but the strongest
SC>stations.
Yeah that is cool, i wish i had a radio like that. But i don't have
the money to buy one. And how did your previous radio die, since most
of the new radios today seem to last forever unless you drop them and
stuff.
SC> In just a few nights of playing around, I have listened to the
SC>following MLB broadcasts. They all come in strong enough to enjoy the
lay
SC>by play.
SC> KMOX St. Louis Cardinals around 1100KZ log scale 6.8 SC>
WJR Detroit Tigers 760 4.5 SC> WMBP
Chicago White Sox 1000 6.3 SC> WABC New
York Yankees 770 4.6 SC> WBAL
Baltimore Orioles around 1100 6.7 SC> WPHT
Philadelphia Phillies 1210 6.9
SC> I invite any other play by play fans to list Radio stations.
SC>MLB just moved to block internet transmission of games through real audio.
SC>The internet at least gave die hard fans a way of tuning into games when
o
SC>other means was available. Way to go MLB cooperates, and you have a good tuner, you can still pick up a lot of
SC>games.
No i think they did the right thing. I think the internet is ok, but
it takes away listeners on radio stations. It's like how you view works
and robots. If you have more people using robots and less people doing
the work that those people can't find jobs. And for radio listeners is
that if they listen to the games over the internet with great sound and
stuff. That they take away the amount of people that listen to the radi
station that cover the games bringing down the ratings.
