On 07-07-09, STAN HARDEGREE said to TIM RICHARDSON: SH>Yes. TR> I put it in an envelope last night. It'll be in the mail this morning. SH>Thanks, Tim. I stopped at the Post Office after the run this morning to make sure I didn't owe money on it in case the envelope was too heavy. It didn't feel that heavy to me, but to the Postal Service.....who knows? And its a good thing I did. It turns out the price of stamps has gone up (again!) and they didn't say anything. At least not around here. Just raised it! While she was making change for me, I asked her;` You know, I mailed out the checks for my bills on the first, and just used the $.42 stamps! Are you telling me the checks are going to start coming back to me for not having a few cents postage?'.....she says `Probably'! Thats great! At least two of them will hit me for late fees. I came home, went on line to my bank, and saw that all but two of them have gotten where they were going and were paid. The other two are my car insurance (which always takes a long time to arrive at its destination), and a check I sent to a PGA DVD instruction club I belong to, which is no big thing. The insurance company never charges me anything when the payment arrives late, as long as they get it, I've been with them for years, now. So it worked out alright. But its a good thing I went in to make sure the enveope wasn't too heavy for ordinary postage, or it probably would have been returned for sure. --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
