Well don't let it happen again!

hehehe I knew we could stay in total agreement about everything!
I am sure you are able to extract information you need, and I am sure that
after a while the people who are causing problems can be discouraged, but it
does not stop the mass postings. I just don't have the time to add new crap
to my filters everyday... I am *GLAD* that you find the newsgroups to be of
use. Maybe you can find information on the 'net and come post it here for
us! hehehe
Oh, one more thing... When the outernets are gone, or on their way out (more
so than now), this will open up the path to surcharges for newsgroups. Sure,
it sounds impossible, now... But right now if there was even a hint of
charging $$ made, a million people would be up in arms and you would hear,
"well, why should we pay anything when we can get better quality 'newsgroups'
for FREE in the outernets"... When they are gone, what will hold them back?

True... I am all for helping some people complete their move to the
internet, and then deleting their offline fido mailers. hehehe Leaving only
the quality people...

hehe I did find him, at least his web and ftp sites, but I must have added
bcheek to a filter or something, because of all the radio related newsgroups,
I just don't get the number of quality posts I have gotten from fido. I
haven't even SEEN a posting from Bill... What is the newsgroup/s he hangs in?

Well, you can't bring no tcp/ip stack down here, you'll need a tow truck.
Just not enough ground clearance... hehehe
Just a side note... I will have my BBS available via the internet shortly,
and I already pull in several newsgroups to it (via FTN converted echos), but
it will be telnetable very soon, and within a month I should have a permenant
presence... But, the main reason I am doing this is to move FTN network
(Fidonet, C-Link!, and a few others) traffic cheaper than now. Although I am
not complaining too much about the cost of moving the large quantity of
echomail that I pay now, it is very reasonable. But there isn't anything
wrong with make it even MORE reasonable! hehehe
