GC>This is an attempt to broaden baseball's popularity - and also
GC>to bring it to places where fans do not get an opportunity to
GC>see MLB. Last year the San Diego Padres played some "home away
GC>from home" games in Monterrey, Mexico. This year they are doing
GC>it in Honolulu.
Yes this is good for baseball since then others might get into it
and i dunno if we really going to go global in the future of baseball
since then there be many games not televised unless you got a
satellight. But since baseball is not doing so well in certain areas of
our country to fan attendence. That perhaps they can by playing some
games in other areas get it popular there and more fans showing up to
games.
GC>It is not unprecedented. In the mid-1950s, the Brooklyn Dodgers
GC>played some "home games" in New Jersey. I don't know if the
GC>Giants did. If my memory is correct, the Chicago White Sox
GC>played a handful of games in Milwaukee.
Wow i never knew that. I always wanted to one day have our own
baseball team in new jersey. And if the Brooklan Dodgers did play once
before in new jersey, they could one day become a team to return as our
home team. But that is not going to happen since they are doing great
for so long in LA. So we need an exspansion team, in order to have our
own baseball team in new jersey.
GC>The NBA has done it throughout its history. In the sixties,
GC>the Celtics, 76ers, and Knicks always traded off home games
GC>with each other to create NBA doubleheaders. This reduced
GC>the number of games on the home schedule, making it easier
GC>to sell season tickets. It also reduced some traveling
GC>expenses for visting teams, particularly the west coast
GC>expansion teams. Example - the Celtics might have played
GC>Seattle in the first game of a doubleheader in New York,
GC>and Phoenix played the Knicks in the nightcap. The next
GC>night, the Knicks would play Seattle in the first game of
GC>a doubleheader in Boston, and Phoenix would play the Celtics.
      I think i understand now.
GC>Don't know why baseball doesn't do this. In fact, in lieu
GC>of interleague play, they could have a doubleheader involving
GC>four different teams. Then again, they don't play too many
GC>doubleheaders anymore.
Yeah i like to know when this inter league play starts too. I know
that it will happen this season.
