-> FB> DN> FB> -> quote stuff, I can't move up or down in quote boxes,
Look in TM's OPTIONS/TERMINAL/QUOTE and see what you have configured for
the quote prefix. It looks like it's quoting my initials, as well as
yours. You might have something like "DN> @>" when you should have
something like "@>" or simpley "->". (If I recall correctly, @ is a
variable that attempts to guess the initials of the person you're
quoting.)
Here's another suggestion: Get an off line reader (I like Blue Wave)
and let it worry about the quoting. They generally give you more
freedom to manipulate your messages anyway, and don't take up your
on-line time trying to figure out what to say (G). That way, you can
download your messages in compressed form, reply to them at your
leisure, then upload the replies. Check with the sysop to find out what
type of message packets he produces (.QWK is the most popular format,
and there must be hundreds of readers capable of handling QWK format
messages. You will need a compression utility, most likely PKZIP/UNZIP,
to use an off-line reader.
-> No doubt, and thanks for the good luck.. I think I'll need it, the
-> guy running this place is a professional programmer and even HE
-> doesn't know
IOW, give up on trying to quote on this BBS and try another route ;).
Hope this helps!
