I have had the opportunity to try them a couple of times. A friend bought a 
GT (Karakorom I believe), and it came with the "lesser" V-brakes. While my 
beef is with the false marketing, or bait-n-switch that shimano is pulling on 
the general public, I have to rate them superior to the canti's I have 
experienced.
