Good points. We went thru this same quandry not very long ago, as we have a
1986 Subaru with (then) 110,000 miles on it. It's now got 125,000 miles on
it. According to our newest mechanic, the engine has a few oil leaks and it
needs a tuneup....and that's it. We try to do needed maintenance when it
needs it (exception: the oil leaks).
We've decided to keep ours for a long while.
