I really doupt that Tom, they talked about it before and decided not to.
Think about it for a second......Atari now sells the jag for 99.00 and the CD
for 149.00... Thats 250.00 for the complete unit that is what others are
offering for 299.00... If they make a one piece unit they would need to
re-tool and do some changes. Go thru FCC again and alot of other stuff which
would amount to spending more money. Now once they had the finished product,
people would expect it to be even cheaper than the current - Atari saves/We
save - So where is their incentive. Lets say they save 25.00 per unit in
their costs. How much does it cost them for the inital switching and
packaging? How much does it cost them re-tooling? How many new customers do
they lose that could afford a starter for 99.00 but not a complete system for
249.00? Finally with the current software available for the Jaguar vs the
current software for the PlayStation, how many people would not just elect to
spend the extra 49.00 and get a PlayStation which in only 4 months has 10% of
the game console market according to WallStreet? (Atari did not even make the
list!)

Are we not talking about Atari Corp. here? Or did we change the subject ;')
