JdBP> But you should read the Pros and Cons list and make up your own mind.
JdBP> It covers five of the C++ compilers avaialble for OS/2.
I will do so, thank you!
JdBP> There are other languages, of course. Among them there are SmallTalk,
JdBP> at least four flavours of PASCAL, PL/I, and even a FORTH
JdBP> implementation. You'll have to decide what language you want to use.
Isn't Visual Age based on SmallTalk? BYTE's recent review of it sounded
pretty impressive. If you just want a simple app, you don't even have to
do any coding yourself, just drag objects in the right sequence, link them
to events, and viola! That sounds like the way to go for me.
JdBP> Incidentally, Microsoft C is not worthwhile pursuing. It only
JdBP> generates 16-bit code (everyone has been writing 32-bit OS/2
JdBP> applications for around 3 years now, so Microsoft is well behind
JdBP> here).
Hehe, I have a copy of it and I was not impressed. Microsoft definitely
does not want OS/2 to succeede. =)
Thanks for the help!
