Got this already (which is where I got the idea to ask you). This comes
in handy for HPFS.
PF> Why do you need to know if it is a cdrom?
As you may or may not know, I write an upload tester. The
"normal" action
of the upload tester is to strip comments etc from the archive. (as well as
all kinds of "tests"), But of course actions which modify the
original file
are unacceptable on a CD-ROM. With the DOS version I pre-determine this and
avoid changes. With the OS/2 version, I would "like" to predermine this as
well, however if unable, I will instead set my determination at the first
"write" failure (which is in my opinion a sloppy way to do things).
However given your code, would a CD-ROM not have a slightly different
return for a CD-ROM as opposed to a LAN? Specifically when it gives the extra
data for a Lan, woud it not almost always start with "\\"? And if so, this
would not likely be the case for a CD-ROM. Do you know if this is the case? (I
don't have a seedy-rom to test).
