Hi Peter,
You seem to be becoming a Guru of sorts here (and I really appreciate your
help BTW) and was wondering if I could impose upon you once again for a
problem which I can't seem to solve.
Is there a way of which you're aware to determine if a given drive is a
CD-ROM (without attempting to write to the device since doing that to my old
WORM drive (which I suspect a few others may still have as well) would give
less than desirable results.
For instance is the media byte distinctive for a CD-Rom and if so, what
would it be and how would I read it?
Any help you could offer in this respect would be greatly appreciated.

Dave...
