will not let them do/say.  I also have no way of saying whether they would
feel comfortable about it.

Dissent is as poorly tolerated in Cuba as it is in many circumstances in
the US.  If you want to go back in US history, the lynching of blacks is a
good point at which to begin looking at American tolerance.  In a more
contemporary setting, the riots at the Democratic convention in Chicago,
1968, and the murders on Kent State campus are noteworthy.  Let's not
ignore the "battle in Seattle".

As for the number of journalists in jail, I can only suggest that you look
to Amnesty or the various press freedom groups.
