| subject: | Installing EMX 0.9a |
Has anyone been successful in installing EMX 0.9a/GCC 2.6? I'm trying to get it to work, and followed the instructions in install.doc (from emxread.zip) as close as possible, but after installing I still am unable to compile e.g. sieve.c or sort.c (in \emx\samples). LD keeps complaining: <--------- D:\EMX\SAMPLES> gcc -O2 sort.c ld: No such file or directory for libgcc.a ---------> I can imagine it can't find libgcc.a, because that file simply isn't there, not on my harddisks and not in any of the 38(!) EMX 0.9a (and related) zipfiles i've got here: <--------- [1] D:\FILEBASE\PDNOS2> for %f in (*.zip) unzip -v %f >>contents [1] D:\FILEBASE\PDNOS2> grep libgcc contents [1] D:\FILEBASE\PDNOS2> ---------> (In other words: libgcc not found in any archive...) Am I overlooking something? Where can I find that missing file? I know it's in the source somewhere, because there are 104 references to libgcc.a in Makefile and Makefile.in, but I need a working version of GCC to compile it. And that's exactly what I do not have... :-( <--------- D:\EMX\GNU\GCC-2.6> make gcc -DIN_GCC -g -I. -I. -I./config \ -DTOOL_INCLUDE_DIR=\"/usr/local/emx/include\" \ -c cccp.c gcc -DIN_GCC -g -I. -I. -I./config -c ./cexp.c gcc -c -DIN_GCC -g -I. -I. -I./config version.c gcc -c -DIN_GCC -g -I. -I. -I./config obstack.c gcc -DIN_GCC -g -o cccp cccp.o cexp.o version.o obstack.o ld: No such file or directory for libgcc.a D:/EMX/BIN/MAKE.EXE: *** [cccp] Error 1 ---------> Can anyone help me out? I'm getting quite desperate over here... (well, not really, but it's definitely starting to annoy me) Regards, Erik ---* Origin: May it be on this earth?
