~> bk> The idea that cable networks are broadcasting completely ignores ~> bk> what the term 'broadcast' means. ~> Only if you narrow the definition of broadcast to "free" TV and radio. A few days ago, Klahn agreed that the Chris Matthews cable show was indeed "broadcast," so for him to klahn the word now is even more superficial than most of his klahning. According to his above sentence, though, he thinks that none of the cable networks themselves know what the word "broadcast" means. Lou Dobbs, for example, during his CNN show: "one leading pro amnesty member of Congress joins me here later in the broadcast." CNN more generally: "Over the past nine months, CNN has broadcast three reports on the activities of SOG the Studies and Observations Group an elite commando unit of the Army's Special Forces." And so on, same with every big cable show and network, as I showed Ackley in my post to him. They BROADCAST. The Bobs are just sidetracking the thread. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:124/311) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/200 331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 SEEN-BY: 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 5030/1256 @PATH: 124/311 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
