How about a hospital network that integrates patient record and billing info 
with network distribution of digitized imaging, like X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.?  
At 10 gigabits for some typical images (and some larger), 100 Mbps for 
hundreds of users could be moving at a snail's pace, while even FDDI would 
have some slowdowns.  
My kid brother has been with Kodak Medical-industrial for 15 years, BTW, and 
such systems integration is one of their present marketing targets.
