G'day Bill,
On 04-05-95 08:58, Bill Grimsley said to Jeff Green
BG> I know it can be bloody hard at times, but becoming emotionally
BG> involved in (or more correctly, with) email is all rather
BG> pointless (he says, having done so himself on several occasions
BG> in the past).
No. I'm lazy.
When Rod stuck to the facts, it was alright. It's when he got into 'his
opinions are facts' mode that I got sick of him.
BG> I think I fully realised this when RTL started on his
BG> Grimsley-bashing campaign over a year ago, and whilst it was
As you may know, RTL has been twitted on here at least 11 out of the last
12 months, so I missed most of that.
BG> The only thing which really bothers me about those multi-parters
BG> is the extra effort required when replying to them. A royal PITA
BG> actually.
Reply to them?? I never read them even if they were addressed to me :-)
I think I've mentioned in the past that if the first page of a message is
nearly all quoted material, I give it the flick. If a discussion between
two other people requires that much quoting, then they can have their
discussion without any interference from me.
BG> Trouble is, you remove the facts, and you end up with nothing BUT
BG> opinion. And everybody is entitled to their own, no matter how
BG> wrong they may be. |-)
That's why I always held the opinion that his opinion that my opinion was
shit was a bad opinion. BTW, your wrong :-) (I'm confused)
JG>> We both agreed that the others opinions were crap (only thing we could
JG>> agree on :-))
BG> And that's NOT opinionated? ROFL!
Actually, we both believed that it was fact :-)
BG> Harder for me, as I move echomail between nodes, and can't
BG> "legally" delete in-transit messages according to whim (not that
BG> I would anyway).
I understand that. If I was in your position I'd be hassling someone to
make changes to MsgEd and get a twit filter added. I wont mention any names
here :-)
BG> Anyway, I doubt it will be too long before RTL pisses off to
BG> greener pastures, now that almost everybody is completely
BG> ignoring him. Arseholes like him NEED an audience to feed
BG> their overinflated egos anyway, IMO.
I saw Teggles tell him off very well not long ago. Swear words and
everything :-) Not long after that he joined the list again.
BG>> I know exactly what you mean. I won't suffer RTL at all any more.
JG>> Good. I untwitted him for a while to see if he'd got any better.
BG> I bet you were really glad you did that! |-)
I'm a brave soul :-)
I untwitted Ed a couple of times, but he just wasn't worth the effort. I'll
probably untwit Rod soon (I've recovered enough disk space...I hope) and
see if he's improved any. I'm an optimist at heart.
BG> Don't bother. In fact, if it's at all possible, Paul should
BG> change the Msged source to hard-code RTL's name as a permanent
BG> deletion IMO!
:-) That would make MsgEd the favourite editor of every point in Australia
I believe.
