ES> Ah, I see. So this chip has its own built in ram or does it ES> require external ram? ES> I'm mainly interested in it if the quality is quite good. ES> The sampler I have made is pretty average quality (but I've ES> heard worse from other 64 samplers). I basically want a zero ES> distortion 8 bit sampler for the 64. (ie amiga/ibm sound ES> card quality) Yep, the little blighter uses it's own memory (EEPROM) so it is ¨pretty much self contained. It samples 8 bit with very low ¨distortion ES> Only if you can sample to the 64 memory! btw, is the input ES> a line input (ie 2.5v ac) or a mic/headphone type input? This could be a problem, the unit is designed to operate pretty much ¨on it's own, it isn't the best communicator around. In other words, ¨you can store 128k of audio into it (at line level, or straight from ¨a mic) but you can't get at that memory to extract the data stream! ¨It works great for handling a number of set messages for responding ¨to user input, errors, in game messages etc, but you can't store ¨these to disk! Sad aint it!
