Get a copy of the compiler package "EMX", which is available from
ftp.cdrom.com in the directory pub/os2/unix/emx09a. Get the four files
"emxrt.zip", "emxdev.zip", "gnudev.zip",
"gppdev.zip", and also the two text files in the directory (which
tell you how to install it.) The rest of the stuff is optional (but most
of it's very nice.)

There's another packaged called Bake (/pub/os2/dev32/bakev100.zip) which is
a very easy to use project manager for EMX. You don't have to learn the
command line arguments for EMX, just use bake. (Then again, I would say
that. I wrote it.)

Anyway: get that, unzip it all, make the appropriate changes to config.sys
that the text files say, and then print out the file
"libref.doc". It's the library reference manual for bake.
(Every function available with the compiler.)

When you're ready to learn OS/2 system calls, get the developer's toolkit,
which comes with the "developer's connection cd-rom", available
from IBM.
