CA> as far as os/2 is concerned and afaik you can only access whole files. DosSetFileLocks will lock and unlock ranges within a file. CA> ibms os/400 for example should allow what you want to do, but os/2 is CA> no multiuser-system and lacks the support for record oriented file CA> access and locking mechanisms, afaik... Locaks are required for any multi-process OS as well as multi-user. Any OS the supports LAN access must have file locks for database queries.
