     The problem with this free ~WEB~ host is that many compromises must
be done:  http://www.iquebec.com/dos-inet/ is shorter but then a visitor
is required to authenticate twice...  The prompt with "2x!" was there as
a tip, a warning, but now that i removed it i realize a visitor might be
under the impression that the authentication has failed the 1st time.  I
couldn't get help from iFrance so that authentication applies only after
their redirection, an other alternative would be to simply remove it but
with power-users around like mister Horn here, i'd rather keep it!!!  :>

     It's true there has been complains about the French content before;
i began to write an English version for each page when possible and this
is accessed by a language button/link right besides my Canadian flag!...

     "(U=U and P=P)" is universal enough but wouldn't give much tip what
it's for.  "U."/"pass." could translate to
"Usager"/"mot-de-Passe" if my
visitor had some imagination, or stand for
"UserName"/"PassWord" for the
others.  "U." alone didn't say much but since it appeared in some dialog
box which is about authentication and one had "pass" right besides of it
i sort of felt this was OKay.  I removed the "2x!" string and now
"User"
helps better but the symetry between French and English has been broken.

     Anyway, French or not i created my site around diskette image-files
and various archives which i wanted to share and not the opposite.  This
isn't a design contest, my site was accessorial to the `DOS-INet' topics
i discussed:  it actually began to exist mainly because of some argument
that ~WEB~ masters could make their sites `Lynx' friendly if they tried;
the BBS table made it nicer, it was quite simple before when it had only
a few bookmarks and a `PC/TCP' link on it.  This site is an extention of
my presence so that a correspondant won't have to wait, nor even have to
ask, so that he gets the information i discussed.  :)  My `PC/TCP' link,
for example, showed how this DOS stack was made to load on 8088 4.77 Mhz
PCs despite the fact that FTP SoftWare stated a 286+ was needed;  a user
who had acces to it could have checked for himself, someone experiencing
trouble with its dialer could have used it as well.  I added a few links
after i adapted the external dialer for use with `EPPPD', then `LSPPP' a
year later;  it gave way to my experiments with a Virtual ~TelNet~ MoDem
"shim" and i published another archive after i began to foresee what the
concept combined to the ~FOSSIL~ standard interface really accomplishes.

     A person trying to use `RLFossil' could have appreciated it but i'm
afraid there's just no "product" development going on here.  Some people
must go through their own learning curve so i let them plenty of time (i
started this in the mid-nineties) and i certainly don't feel guilty when
someone complains there's a mixture of French and English because, never
during those years, one single remark was made from someone who intended
to look at the content, not just the container.  The language for batch-
files is English even when the DOS version is French, `{Commo}' is quite
the same.  When i must read code the few KeyWords from side-comments are
usually helpful enough, if i still don't get it i read the documentation
and if there's none that i can use i look around.  In any case, visitors
get a better starting point than i ever had myself, i don't believe i've
ever seen this sort of information presented in the form of a debugged &
tested set of files sitting on a diskette and with a directory structure
which only requires that those files i didn't author are copied over the
fake ones!  If that sort of help from a user to another isn't sufficient
i regret but complaining about my use of French sounds a bit futile!  :(

     More translation work was done on the `{Commo}' files after someone
suggested that i do so, the guy never cared to post any feed-back, so...
I don't feel like i need to search a 64 Kb macro file when all is needed
is to configure a couple files which are smaller and already in English!

     The information collected on my site is intended as a demonstration
made to the attention of developers who would still wonder what the `XT'
could actually do, with no Hard-Disk.  Explanations like this would have
saved me years and i wouldn't have cared that the author only claimed to
be developping "GlueWare" and that he was bilingual.  %-)  I'm trying to
explore solutions, i've been testing `RLFossil' for quite some time now;
yet, the attention always focusses on the God damn ~WEB~ site and little
is ever written about how `RLFossil' is configured and why `{Commo}' was
such a great choice and so much more!  Frankly, i tried my best.  Sorry!

     To those who wish to wander around in search for a distraction when
they simply wouldn't invest time just to copy a dialer entry and fill it
with their own data, while they got a real life example right above, i'm
afraid there's little to reply that will make them happier so, i'll need
to witness some efforts before i get concerned about my own performance!

     Am i going to translate the rest of the site, some day?  I guess it
will be done, euh...   but you can bet it won't be soon - i get no input
other than as if i were into WEBMaster contests!  Those prototypes which
show to which extent i went with this quest simply don't seem to matter,
people ask for a better site but that's not the main purpose and there's
not much i'm going to do about it...  My true priority is LEGACY BBSing.

     Anyway, i hope you don't get the wrong impression...  It appeared a
few readers remaining here needed to know what's my site really for.  :)

     Once and for all, please guys...  Take notice it's there to support
discussions, or if nothing else, to simply give users a way to reach me.
