Since I'm not babysitting for the family I was babysitting
for (long story that!) I've needed to think of ways to
get my crafts to a place that will sell.
I've had cards and a few other items at the local consignment
shop, but it is small and new there so nothing has sold yet.
In November my mom has signed up with a friend to have a table
at a local bazaar in central Oregon. She had told me a while
back that she was glad that I had a number of things to sell
since she hadn't been able to do much this year. Well, she
told me that recently she talked to her friend that was doing
it with her and her friend told her the same thing. Mom told
her I had enough craft items to sell to fill 3 tables! She
was exaggerating a little, but I'm hoping that I can sell
some of my items so that I will have money for Christmas gifts
that I want to do and can't make.
Mom had previously bought brown paper bags and white manilla
envelopes for me to decorate. I turn the envelopes into gift
bags. A friend taught me how to do that last year and they
come out really cute! Anyway, in exchange for me stamping on
them, I get to keep half of the bags. So we will both be
selling bags that I have made. Which makes me happy because
she will get her investment back and I will make some money
too. Originally I was also going to use shaped sponges
with acrylic paint, but I've discovered that I can do bags
a lot faster and a lot simpler with my rubber stamps. That
may partly be due to the fact that I have been doing rubber
stamping for so many years, but either way, I'm plugging
away at it. I sat down and stamped a whole lot of bags on
a day that I was able to do it and am now coloring and adding
embellishments of buttons and ribbon and bows, as well as
handles to the bags. There are some bags I wouldn't sell
because there is just too much time into them. And some bags
where I really impressed myself with my creativity. :-)
I also have been making money here and there selling my
cards. In addition I've offered a service of mailing
cards out for people for birthdays, anniversaries, encouragement
etc. I have been doing that for several of my friends and
a pen pal that I have. Anyway, I had mentioned it to my
doctor the other day and he told me that that was something
that would definitely fill a niche and I could make good
money at it if I could get the word out. So I've contacted
a friend and am waiting to hear back from him to see if
he will set up a web page for me.
I'd like to know if you think this ad is sufficient for
selling this kind of craft and describing the cards. It's
something that I found difficult to write so would
appreciate any feedback you may care to offer.

So what do you think? Should I change anything? Do you
think my prices are reasonable? Usually I sell my cards
for $2 each.
I've got a couple of other projects going as well, but don't
want to mention them because then my secret pal may know
who I am. :-)
Thank you for taking the time to listen, pray, and share
with me. You are valued!
