Hello Gord,

I'm aware of it, although back then I did most of my multi- tasking on
Concurrent CP/M-86 and Concurrent DOS. Desqview X looked very interesting,
it's a pity that more did not come of it. The closest I've come to running
X on DOS is probably a recent experiment with a VNC viewer running atop DOS
on a 486 PC, acting as a frame buffer, keyboard and mouse for a remote
machine running X on NetBSD.
