Hello Ed,
LL>> Ed is an okay guy. But he did wrong by allowing Ross to dictate
LL>> how to run his board. It was not just Ed who did this, so I am a
LL>> bit lenient on him, as I know the games Ross likes to play.
EK> As you know most of the time when Ross Cassell sent me netmail about you
or
EK> Tim Richardson posing in his echos, i asked not to post there as he could
EK> cut
EK> the conference feed.
They were never his echoes, most notably the Fidonews.
You know this, Frank Vest knows this, Bj”rn Felten knows
this, and Ross Cassell most certainly knows this.
EK> Just looked but your account is no longer in my database, Tim Richardsons
EK> is. You guys are welcome to post here if you want.
I had enjoyed using your board for a number of years, and do
thank you for running an excellent BBS. I disagree with you
on your perception of Ross Cassell being "moderator" of echoes
he elisted for himself on his fake "echolist", as no private
echolist has any official status in FidoNet. My gripe has
nothing to do with you, but with him.
LL>> Ross found out his games do not work with every sysop. Especially
LL>> sysops outside of Zone 1. And he did try mightily to get sysops who
LL>> are outside of Zone 1 to do his bidding.
EK> I got into a pissing match with Ross on Facebook over an alleged pilfered
EK> article he posted. Strange but my fido feed was cut for close to a week. I
EK> had no idea until one of my members emailed abour missing mail..
He did the same to another sysop (who will remain anonymous).
I never bothered informing him of the problem, but was able to
determine he was unaware of what was done to his system. I
am still welcome on his board, but have not used it in years.
Another sysop he did this to was notified, and as a result
decided to pull the plug on FidoNet entirely. I play scrabble
with him online, and with another (former) FidoNet sysop.
Those sysops are in the USA. Ross had less success with sysops
outside the USA, and probably learned a few words he never knew
existed.
LL>> Ed has no balls. I forgive him for that. After all, he is an
LL>> old man, and now officially retired and elibigle for an old age
LL>> pension (everybody gets one at that age). He could have been a
LL>> hero. But he missed the boat on that one. Big time.
EK> I got really big big balls..
What I am getting at is each sysop has to stand up for himself,
and protect those who use his/her system from abuse.
EK> I've operated the largest and oldest eBay related fraud awareness website
EK> since 2004: ebaymotorssucks.com.. :)
I have only made one purchase on eBay my entire life.
And that was for a small one-of-a-kind handmade object.
The lady who sent it to me also sent me a very nice
thankyou note to go with it.
LL>> But still, I forgive him.
EK> I sincerly appreciate that.. :)
And I sincerely appreciate you welcoming me, and Tim, and others
to use your board.
LL>> Not sure about Wayne Chirnside, but I forgive him.
EK> That guy was crazy - one night threatened to kill me!
He did have a few problems. Not sure if I want to even
try to figure them out. Hopefully he is better now, and
is taking his meds.
EK> The many tales from the good old Fidonet days..
Tales that could speak volumes ...
