EJ> Why is it that whenever I edit a batch file for a DOS session under
EJ> OS/2 Warp, the filename for that particular icon changes to
EJ> filename.bak? Of course, it can't run that. It seems to try to keep
EJ> track of the original file it was attached to, rather than the actual
EJ> file name.
Whatever editor you are using is making a *.bak of the file you edited.
The changed one should have *.bat as it was originally called. The *.bak
file is what the *.bat was before you edited it.
Check and see if your editor has an option to not make a backup copy.
Just in case you make a goof and can't remember what you changed, I
do suggest you leave the *.bak feature active. You can always delete
those *.bak file later.
