Mike, it looks like you are using the DOS PKZIP for your archiver. What
happens is that when you call it up a DOS session is started to run
PKZIP, it does what you requested, then closes when finished.

I do not use the app you are talking about but would suggest that you
get the OS/2 Freeware equivalents to PKZIP; not sure of the versions but
there will be ZIP & UNZIP for OS/2. Call those up in place of PKZIP and/or
PKUNZIP.

Seeing that these are OS/2 utilities you should find that your problem
is resolved.
