That's a good point, but most of the scanners I've tried lately have
had roughly equivalent speeds and so this hasn't been a major concern
for me. However, I understand the beta of F-Prot v3.0 for DOS is
very slow and that's what's hindering its formal release.

Except for very tiny, single function ones, TSRs almost always slow
things down, to say nothing about their causing conflicts. I've long
run multiple TSRs under DOS, but Win95 adds considerably to the
complexity of dealing with problems that TSRs may cause.
