MG> That title and program description don't sound familiar at all.
MG> I believe that Diane Carroll was the first black female to star
MG> in her own network show, but she didn't play a maid. Seems to
MG> me that she was the widow of an air force officer, working in a
 MG> doctor's office. I don't recall any interracial dating.
That was in 1969, as I recall, when JULIA was on the air...
The program I'm trying to remember was in the mid-1950s...I had read about
it, and have seen clips from kinescopes of it on a few TV
retrospectivedocumentaries...
Something is ringing in the back of my mind that her name was "Marigold" or
"Maribel"...I believe it was also the first 'spin-off' show, but the only one
I can think of immediately is the older version of THE LORETTA YOUNG SHOW
(early 1950s as opposed to early 1960s).
MG> In the show you mentioned, was this a romantic kiss between two
MG> adults as opposed to an adult giving a child a kiss on the
MG> cheek? (I don't consider the Trek kiss romantic or erotic in
MG> that it was compelled by outside forces, but at least Kirk and
 MG> Uhura were adults.)
I think this would be technically a kiss between adults...the white male was
a teenager either en route to or home from college, and was around 19-20...
Damn. It's Mr. Drucker all over again, isn't it?
Once spent a week trying to remember the first name of Mr. Drucker from GREEN
ACRES and PETTICOAT JUNCTION, only to wake up at 3AM from a sound sleep to
yell it out loud so everyone could hear it.
