To a certain extent, you really can't have personal ethics. The job of the 
cop 
is to physically - to the point of death - force people to obey laws that 
he/she doesn't necessarily agree with. For instance, among a million other 
reasons, how could I be a cop and endanger people's lives for buying a bag of 
pot? Many times, no one has anything more than a pocket knife until the cops 
show up with guns.
