Depends on several things.  What are the threads doing, and what are their
priorities?  Basically, if you want snazzy response from threads, give them
a high priority and have them block on a semaphore when they're not needed.

P.S.  There's a "threads=" type parameter in config.sys which
defaults to something rediculously low.
