What a day! The two baby Jenday boys are *almost* weaned, down to one
almost unnecessary evening feeding at 8.5 and 8 weeks old. I think they
will be ready to go by early August, if I can just find suitable good
homes for them......
I HAD planned to try selling this clutch unweaned to a highly
recommended pet store who handfeeds and weans all their babies before
sale, but I lost my nerve ; thus, they're still here.
Rio & Paco, their parents, showed no interest in double-clutching, so I
took down their nestbox last Friday. Today I found that Rio is pregnant
again...if she's true to form, the egg will appear about Thursday.
THEN I went downstairs to feed the basement crew, and noticed that
Cherry (female cherry-head conure) was looking a bit "saggy" of belly.
A peek in their nestbox showed me a brand-new egg that wasn't there on
Saturday (last time I looked in the box)!!!
Things will be rockin' around here about August 10 or so when all
those babies start hatching!  I'm almost tempted to set up my two
remaining unproven pairs of cockatiels, just to see if they will catch
on this time!
