Please remember that mainframes are useless without networking. The
term "file server" might be more modern. Each networked computer would
be considered a "Workstation". Your discussion opened up another idea
of Networking a collection of Mainframes. When I discuss "mainframes"
please keep in mine that I'm not discussing the little toys that we use
on our desks. I'm talking about the Gagk(sp) system like at Micro-soft.
(oh, yes...uk..uk..uk..-Tim Allen grunt). This bad boy has gigs for
RAM. This is what I see in my vision. We'll have to see what the
future has for us. Even Bill Gates said "640k should be enough for
anyone". I can still remember when my roomate brought home a 286
columbia with a 20 meg hard drive. And I wondered how he would ever
fill that?
